The room had all the basic amenities needed.

The room is decent and very neatly maintained. We had booked it through MMT after seeing the good reviews. This is a new hotel, just about a year old. We had stayed at Hotel Atharv in Mid December during our visit to Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Temple. I also hope that the ***agement of this place takes note and decides to mend their ways…though I seriously doubt it. Well I’m never setting foot in this place again that’s for sure! And I only hope that those of you reading this don’t either. But we were in quaint little Kohlapur with extremely limited options at 7 pm (a late enough hour for a small town) with a doggo baby who was ill with motion sickness from a long journey. I would have walked out of there had I been alone. Never before have I been treated with such indignity. Never before has my privacy so strongly been ignored. Never before has my identity so strongly been questioned. I felt humiliated and violated! This was a first for me. This is our rule.” This went on for awhile until finally, having not been left with a choice, my husband showed him a photo on his phone from our wedding. The law de***ds that I show him a government approved photo ID, which I did, and that is enough.

To which he replies- “Then please show me your marriage license or a photograph from your marriage.” I couldn’t believe what was happening! In 2019…here I am standing in a lodge at 7 pm in the evening with this unknown, random guy de***ding to see my very private and personal marriage documents and photos to prove my identity! Needless to say, I was furious! I de***ded am explanation to which he says that this lodge was only for families and I needed to prove that I was indeed my husband’s wife as I was claiming and only then could he let us in! A heated argument ensued during which I fruitlessly tried to explain to this *** that he can’t just cook up his own rules. Coz my name has not been changed after marriage”. What happened next is just cringe worthy! This ‘gentle***’ looks at me and says “would you have another ID that shows your name after your marriage?”. I gave him my PAN card and my husband emailed him his AADHAR copy. He refused, albeit politely, saying he could not allow us to enter the room without first giving him the government ***dated IDs. We requested him to allow us to get to our room as we were laden with luggage and were trying to ***age a slightly overwhelmed doggo and that we would do so, fish out our IDs from our bag and hand them over to him within half an hour.

The not so gentle***ly gentle*** at the reception asked us for our IDs. But that’s where the good part ends! We checked in after a long, 10-11 hr drive.

The booking process was hassle free and they even helped us postpone our stay dates by a few days without any extra charge. We stayed at Hotel Ashish Deluxe for a night on our way from Bangalore to Mumbai as we were travelling with our pet and this was one of the few places that allowed dogs (extra charge of Rs. I would definitely like to stay over whenever I am in Kolhapur

Staff / People = Very polite and helpful staff / people. Of course the good suggestion was given to us by the hotel staff to visit nearby hotel to have drinks and dinner. Restaurant = We did not choose to take a plan with Breakfast and had our dinner at different hotel as the this hotel does not serve the liquor. The Sleep quality was good due to good bed. Rooms = Rooms are good and spacious with most of the required amenities. The Basement has an ample parking area to accommodate at least 10 cars. Hotel Property = Its a good Hotel Property still well maintained. It gives overall convenience for the tourist / travelers to start their journey without being getting stuck in traffic. Location = Very convenient location located between Main Pune - Bangalore Highway and Kolhapur City Centre. I was delighted to have a peaceful stay at Hotel Chaitali. I had stayed in this hotel almost 6 years ago and hence suggested my friends for the same hotel. We as a group of friends happened to stay at this hotel as we were in search of a hotel to spend a night so that we can continue our journey ahead next morning.
